OSHA 10 & 30 Hour General Industry Course

Whether choosing the 10 or 30 Outreach program, CW Safety Consultants LLC will provide a custom presentation for you.  OSHA has set certain minimum discussions that must be covered along with electives that will suit the needs of your project.  The presentations will draw heavily from true field experience of the instructor and not merely glossing over a general power point with photos from the 80’s.  The intent of the class is to inform employees of the various hazards associated with General Industry and what are their rights within the work place.  By creating a better understanding as to what the minimum requirements by law are, the better your safety program can implement newer procedures for a better safety and health program.  We will go in depth as to what OSHA’s roles are and what to do in the event of an actual inspection.  Statistics will be discussed where most employers are cited and also review some letters of interpretation that will help you better understand what the actual standard is trying to say.  Upon completion of the class, students will receive an actual serial numbered card from OSHA within 4 weeks.  These cards never expire, and your instructor will be more than happy to review possible updates in training.  Once the training has started there is a 6 month window for completion so please contact us for scheduling that will fit your busy schedule.  OSHA General Industry manual is included.

Confined Space

4 hours of instruction of safe confined space entry procedures and field demonstration from the participating students.  Besides the 1910.146 standards, you will receive in-depth training and tips as to a safer way of performing an entry.  The field demonstration is at the end of class where students set up and demonstrate proper procedures to bring it all in what they have learned.  Zeroing, bump testing and calibration of gas meters will be thoroughly discussed.

CPR / First Aid / AED

8 hour day course of Adult, Child, Infant CPR/First Aid and AED training.  This is the whole package and you will receive a pocket First Aid Book and DVD to take home and review your training by your self or share with loved ones.  Students will practice with manikins as well as use an AED training unit and various first aid supplies.  One of the hardest questions for instructors to answer is what is it really like to actually perform CPR and what to expect?  Your instructor has had a lot of professional training in medicine from working in a Medical Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit and the Emergency Room, as well as being an EMT in two states and a field medic.  Some of the harder questions will be answered based on real experience of actually performing them.   CPR certification is valid for 2 years and First Aid is for 3 years.  This is one of those critical training skills that will benefit the company as well as the home environment.

Fork Lift Training

Review the OSHA standards in regards to operating a fork lift and focus on the pre-start safety inspection.  In depth review of design considerations of the fork lift such as electric and propane or diesel powered.  Numerous scenarios will be reviewed to help drive home the proper skills needed to ensure stability of the load.  Various driving scenarios will be covered with topics to include, positioning the fork lift, other fork lifts in the area and awareness of pedestrians.  Students will receive a certificate as proof of training as well as a wallet card upon successful completion of the test at the end of instruction.  There will be a hands on demonstration to review the skill level of the operators.  It is 5 hours of instruction and then extra time allotted for the Hands On portion which is dependent of the class size and current skill level.

Defensive Driver Safety

Let’s face it, most of us drive a vehicle on a daily basis whether it’s your personally owned vehicle or the companies.  This course will help prepare you to prevent collisions by understanding your driving environment.  This is an 8 hour course that will focus on distracted driving, impaired driving, fatigued driving, aggressive driving.  We will get into what are the 6 most unsafe driving behaviors and techniques for avoiding collisions. You will receive a work book in class to review what was instructed throughout the day.  Even though you have been driving for years, I guarantee you will pick up some helpful tips to be a safer driver.  Check with your insurance company as some provide discounts for proof of such training.
